According to OSHA 1926.1440: Side Boom Cranes
Side booms must be inspected annually by a qualified person, and said inspection shall be maintained on record for no less than a period of 12 months.
OSHA 1926.1429(b): Qualification of Maintenance and Repair Employees
Maintenance and repair personnel must meet the definition of a qualified person with respect to the equipment and maintenance/repair tasks performed.
AMSE B30.5-2.1.3: Periodic Inspection
Complete inspections of the crane shall be performed by a qualified person at intervals as generally defined in paragraph 5-2.1.1(b)(2)
AMSE B30.5-2.1.1(b)(1)and(2): Inspection Classification
(1). Frequent Inspection. Daily to monthly intervals by a designated person.
(2). Periodic Inspection. 1 To 12 Month intervals, or as specifically recommended by the manufacturer or a qualified person.
